    SEDO Sellers - BEWARE

sedo clearly has a SERIOUS and apparently ILLEGAL
(in many viewer jurisdictions) CONFLICT of INTEREST
in undertaking buyer functions against their OWN
parking/seller clients WITHOUT DECLARING their status
    as sedo buying agents.

As buyers, they are in possession of many layers of
PRIVILEGED INFORMATION about the seller and the domain
they are bidding on (don't tell me they don't use it)
when acting SECRETLY as buying agents.

Here is their offer found on typical SEDO sale sites.
    ===========================================
    No time for direct negotiation?

Then let our professional domain brokers handle it
for you! Our brokers will work directly with you,
take over the tedious back and forth negotiations
with the seller, and use their expert knowledge to
get the domain for you at the lowest price possible.

Take advantage of our personal and competent service
to finally get the domain that you really want.
    ===========================================

    SEDO OWNERS:
Are you aware of this peculiar activity from your staff
    - that will inevitably lead to various governmental
and/or private legal action, not to mention the loss
    of user confidence etc. ??

    Re: SEDO Sellers - BEWARE

Since they earn a percentage they are also motivated to negotiate the highest price they can for the domain. Like a real estate agent, they are effectively working for the seller more than for the buyer, no matter how they portray themselves to potential buyers.

If the matter is being enacted without the seller's
full knowledge or permission, questions regarding
which party benefits most are not relevant.

The issue of conflict of interest, non-disclosure
of dual-function activity and potential for various
types of abuse are central in this situation.

Whether it be real-estate, stockbroking or numerous
other fields where this has reared its ugly head,
    the issues are the same.

The suggestion that the agent is secretly/effectively
working in the seller's interest is laughable.

Experience in other fields has shown that
unless strictly policed, it is only a matter of time
before privileged information is used illegally to
    individual or corporate benefit.

Rogue insiders acting alone or in collusion with
    outside individuals, using privileged information
to acquire assets at reduced cost has been
endemic at various times in all comparable fields.

Why should this situation be different ?

Surely recent corporate fiascos have shown that
    separation/prevention of conflicting-functionality
    is essential in avoiding abuse.

    sedo should DROP insider-buying immediately.
