    Question Selling .biz domains

I'm really new to selling domain names and I am
wondering about selling .biz extensions. I know
in the beginning you could only sell them if they
were a developed website, but I have since seen
people selling the domain only. I have a .biz and
want to know if I can sell it on ebay or another
auction site. Any advice is appreciated. Also, I
am wondering where is the best site to check a
    trademark on a name. Thanks.

    Re: Selling .biz domains

The .biz charter states that you aren't allowed to register a .biz name solely for the purpose of resale.

Practically, of course, that policy boils down to a big cup of "so what".

    Here's where I prove I'm psychic:

Eyewash or not, it still does allow someone to officially file a complaint to the registry based on that charter. Over 8,000 names were deleted by Neulevel because the names were put up for resale in the early days of .biz.

If a company really wanted a .biz name that could be proven "bought solely for resale" and willing to file a UDRP, then one would suspect the case will be much easier to win.

IF they have a trademark. Under the RDRP as written, the domain name simply gets deleted.

The registry has used that right - they just deleted 8,000+ 'for sale/for bid" .BIZ names without warning in early 2003.

    Re: Selling .biz domains

Neulevel had a lot of issues to deal with initially, given the ridiculous way that .biz was launched. They are not running around deleting "for sale" .biz names, and it would be foolish for them to do so, since nobody wants to actually register .biz names. You don't stay in business by telling your customers to go away.
