if there is one thing that irks me about Snapnames ,or as much the partners they work with
This has been a historical problem, but one that arises from the fact that Snapnames works with a large number of registrars. In the early days, having a large number of registrars was necessary for straightforward dropcatching.

Having worked with a client who had acquired thousands of domain names through SnapNames over the years, I found that Snapnames was very good at encouraging their partner registrars to address the problems of Snapnames customers.

If you are having a problem with MelbourneIT, then you are having a problem with MelbourneIT. What you might consider doing if you cannot resolve the problem with the registrar is to contact Snapnames support.

    Well I solved the earlier problem, now yet again with one of the Snapnames registrars they are again playing games with me. I asked for auth code and unlock domain as there is no control panel to do it myself. I told them I am selling the domain. They then sent email below;

    Hello,
Since the domain has been sold, please provide the new owner's
information. We are limited to providing the requested information to
    the actual owner.
    Thank you.
    End Quote

What the F do they keep wasting my time for ?. Snapnames will lose business this
way because there is no way I am going to keep buying when I am buying
    hassles with dodgy registrars.

    DG

The Registrar is GetYerName.com which I believe may well be a Snapnames
    owned "Registrar".

You shouldn't have told them anything.
Ask for the auth code and that's it.
You shouldn't try to make an explanation to transfer or to expediate transfer.
Just threaten them that you will report them to ICANN and then actually report them after a couple of days. Works every time.

    That's funny.

They are obligated to provide the auth code to the registered name holder. If you are the registrant of the domain name, proceed as noted by DVDrip above.

I have just spoken to someone I happen to know at ICANN and they said they
will ensure matter is looked into. What a waste of time, just because
    of unethical practices.

What buggers...I don't think that is legal. I have a paid membership to domaintools if you need proof of registration history.

Keep us up to date. Hope the buyer is understanding of the situation.
