Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!I just searched all the WIPO cases for a decision on cases where "Sportsbook" was somehow in the title of the domain name:
http://www.wipo.int/amc/en/domains/s...ain=sportsbook
Looking back at the sale of "Sportsbook.Mobi", it looks like trademark rule was deemed invalid by the registry:

So my simple question is:
If I registered "Sportsbook.X" is this trademark infringement?
Thanks for your help!![]()
huh?
Did you bother to read any of those WIPO complaints?
NONE of them were over the term "sportsbook"
ALL of them were over additional TM'd terms in the name.
So, yeah... if you got sportsbook.x you should be happy.
Yes, I did notice this. I've done some more research and USPTO has "Sportsbook.COM" as a trademark. The whole name including the ".COM" is part of the trademark.
Sportsbook in itself is a general term, so I won't be affected by an TM infringement with this name.
Thanks for the reply!
Trying to steal some of that poker traffic?
.ru?
hehehe, actually, I want to hopefully build a sport betting web presence for Mexican/Spanish domainers. Looking for the best affiliate now that can translate to Spanish.![]()
Just a tip - about half of the players on there are Eastern European.
