Tricky matter, please help

I know of an excellent generic name registered till 2004. Admin email address is *@home.com and @home.com addresses are not valid email addresses any more after Home.com shut down.
Admin contact cannot access his email.

I have taken a Snap on this name. My two options are :--

1. Wait till he fails to renew it. Snap it.
2. Make small offer and test waters.

If I make offer (and he accepts it) how can he transfer it to me ?
He has no access to the admin email address !!! He may be willing to sell it because due to lack of access to his email he can keep on renewing but never do anything else .

Can he still transfer it to a buyer ? Please help.

could he not just update the details of the whois record through the domain names registrar and regain control of the domain...???

i may be wrong but i'm sure that is what he can do.

he might just be able to use username & password to access domain info, and update the e-mail to the correct one. and then he get full control.

If its Netsol and registered 2 years or more back, chances are the owner may not have the account access information to do so. In those days, you needed a whole bunch of stuff to change registrant information.

I just noticed that Netsol has enabled registrant name change recently in the user control panel. About bludy time!

Ah, there is hope then. Email domainbank and ask for advise. Just pretend its for another domain you have.
