Ebayadvisor.com, ebaycrafts.com are for sale, but Ebay.com is trademarked.
Can one combine a trademarked name like microsoft and add forum. or news at the end.
One could use napsterforum.com or napsternews.com
Would Napster sue and win?

I think in the case of ebay, they want buzz and extra websites talking about how to make money. They have other people doing the marketing for them.
no, Ebay protects after their trademark VERY strongly, dont dare cross paths with them
I was looking at names for tabletpc. which is owned by microsoft.
There are many variations such as tabletpcbuzz.com, tabletpctalk.com
I go to amdzone.com alot but they are very pro amd, so I guess AMD allows them to publish.
It seems it depends on what each company want to do.
I would say eBay sends out alot of letters but enforces very little.Originally posted by GT Web
