Question Would I have problems with reg'in a popular film title as a .info?

    Hi,

Been thinking of registering a popular film name in a .info and wondered if I would have any TM issues etc if I did so.

The film is relatively new and well known with massive hollywood actors in.

    Thanks for any advice beforehand.

Without knowing the name or anything. I couldn't tell you but most movies from what I knew had some sort of infringement protection behind it. I could be wrong. Also why would you want to register the .info? What is your purpose behind that?

A "fan site" is usually fair use.

The point is, the .com will get the traffic.

I once sold one such domain to the movie studio that eventually produced the film but I would not take such a chance again.

In that case, I would register it, but be weary that there might be some people who might come after you if you end up getting more traffic than the actual site..
