Just curious...I noticed that almost every single yahooligans dot com typos are registered by Yahoo. I was just wondering if they had the foresite to reg these...or have people gotten C&D letters and been forced to sign the domains over to yahoo.

I would imagine that yahoo registered the major typos when launching the service, or that they took care to make sure they got the typos handed over to them. A typo of a popular children targeted website in the wrong hands is not a good thing...
Probably both. Yahoo did get several of them by filing UDRPs. For example:
