    Getting Mini Sites Indexed

    Hello,

I have had several Content mini sites created and have them online. My question... what is the best way to get them indexed with Google.com ?

The know the mini site have site maps... can I submit them to Google? If yes how do I go about doing that?

    Any help most appreciated.

    Regards
    Jeff

Build backlinks... Forget about "submitting to search engines", sitemaps are fine, not required all the time, but they do help if you have a large site with lot's of deep linked pages that need to be indexed (categories, sub-categories, sub-sub-categories etc.).

It's good advice but you really don't need a sitemap for a mini site, considering every page is accessible from the home page.

I'm not sure if you guys around the world knows/heard about Mikkel deMib Svendsen, he is an ultimate seo-expert and what we in Denmark think of "the King of SEO".

He recommends to NOT to use sitemap:

I don't know much about seo, but I listen to the King.

Sitemaps are only useful for large sites, they're overkill for mini sites.

I can also confirm that I never need sitemaps. One good backlink is all I need...

I've never had a problem with getting indexed, especially after the Google Caffeine update. Pretty much any new site I create is indexed within days.

If you do want to boost things up somewhat, submit an article or two to eZineArticles, create some social bookmarks (especially on Digg and Reddit), or build backlinks from existing sites.

Oh, and if you are using Wordpress, make sure that the privacy settings are NOT set to 'block search engines'. I did that with one website and couldn't figure out for months why my sites weren't getting indexed!

And if you are using Wordpress, no harm in installing the Google Sitemaps plugin. I can't tell you whether Sitemaps help or not, but they certainly won't hurt your prospects.
