Need Help -- Sold and transferred a domain that included the contentministe

Hey guys…I've PM'd impactadmin about this, but I know he's busy so I'm asking everyone in case someone's been in this situation…

I sold a contentminisite domain I had, but since I wanted to make the transfer as soon as possible, I took the site down and removed it from my Hosting account (the domain was transferred shortly thereafter)

But in in my rush to take down the site, I did not log into the control panel at domainxyz.com/sm to change the email/password login info.

I then tried to make the change at contentminisites.com but the only thing I can change there is my password. I cannot change the email

The new owner has the contentministe zip file

So this is where I need your help...

Has anyone sold a domain that included the contentminisite?
How did you set things up so that the new owner could have access to the domainxyz.com/sm control panel?
Did you do things before or after the transfer?

Thanks for any and all answers you can provide.

All you need to do is give them the zip and the original password, once setup they can go to the /sm page and change the password to whatever they want.

Correct. It will be the same process for them as it was for you when you first downloaded the site. Unzip the download and upload all files to their host account where the domain should be pointed live. The same login you used would be still active. Once they login they will need to change the email and password under account settings in the sm manager.

Thanks guys. ABout the above quote...if I change my password at contentminisites.com, does that carry over to the /sm control panel when they unzip and upload the site? Or will that have no effect whatsoever?

Thanks again for your quick responses. I won't assume you guys are busy ever again...I'll just assume you're sitting on the couch doing nothing (I kid, I kid)

    Hi,

No it wont carry over. The password is only married to your account the first time the site is generated. After that it is controlled through the SM control panel.
