i know there is tons of info on this site but, if anyone want to point me in the right direction to get the meat of things.that would be great! i currently don't own domains but have come up with a few good names that are available but hesitant to purchase. want to make sure they are worth something or i can make something off them.

There isn't just one place on the forums to learn everything but it also depends on what you want to do. The beginners area is a good start, there is also the legal area, sales areas, appraisals areas, domain news. There is a lot of information here and it is easy to get lost, just take it one step at a time.
