i felt that this is only appropriate since i frequent this forum quite often recently, why isn't there warnings about domaining being addictive@!#~?

If you have read some previous posts, you would have been WARNED! Warned by the many stories of people who are more addicted to domains than a crack addict with a 4-Kool-Menthol-pack-a-day habit.

You would have been warned by the people on this forum who dream about domain names in their sleep and then have mental issues in the morning when they can't come up with those dream names. Or those who are about to fall asleep in front of the TV, then hear something that could be the new catch phrase of the year, or the new medical breakthrough that people will be buzzing about for years - having to pop up from bed to check the domain before someone else checks it first.

There will be times that you can't stop the ideas, you may get 3, 4 or 5 domain ideas at the same time - then you'll get so pissed off when you can't remember them all. You'll eventually make it a habit to carry a personal recorder or a small pad and pen, so you'll never let another good domain idea get away. But, inevitably, you will.

And you will be constantly tormented, trying to think of "obvious" domains that haven't been registered yet. You might find yourself searching through various magazines for new types of products, scientific and medical journals for new inventions, products and disease names.

You might go to EBay and scan the categories to come up with new domain ideas - coming up with every possible good combination of a product name plus store.com, shop.com, forum.com, online.com, world.com, depot.com, solutions.com, etc.

You may find your self going to sites like Sears and Home Depot to get even more product ideas for domains. Everything you see, hear, smell and touch will give you even more ideas.

Its bad enough when you're starting out... but once your domains start making money, the disease gets worse.... exponentially. You'll want new search tools, auction sites, sales charts, research sites and anything else that can help you get your fix.

You'll tell people that domaining is like panning for gold. Once you scoop up a few flakes and a nugget, how can you stop? As long as the stream produces gold, why leave it? When someone asks, don't you have enough domains... your answer will likely be something like, you can never have enough domains, as long as they are making money.

Not long after you hit 100 domains, you'll be on your way to 500. Then 1000. Then, depending on how good and profitable your names are, you could be headed to thousands more. Unfortunately, if you start by getting crappy domains, you may not get past 100 before you decide to dump out of the business. So, here's your warning: GET OUT NOW, WHILE YOU CAN.
