Country:   |  Hello from Switzerland Hi @ll, Although I am not exactly new to this forum and to the domain industry and some of the folks here at DNF know a little bit about me, I would like to introduce myself. First of all, you can call me Remy, I guess this will sound more personal than green.angel (the Green Angels being by the way one of the 2 major fan groups of the French soccer team I am actively supporting  )To come back to more uninteresting things, I have been actively involved in the domain industry for more than 5 years now. Everything I learnt, I learnt it at Sedo. I worked there between 2004 and 2009, successively as an intern, an account manager, a key account manager, a country manager and a director of mediterranean operations. You will have guessed it from my bad English: the main market I focused on was France and more generally French speaking countries. But I also had the chance to supervise other markets and country managers at Sedo, among them Korea, Japan, China, Spain and Italy. I had a wonderfull time at Sedo, and no, they didn't pay me to come here and say that, in case you asked yourself  I really enjoyed these 5 years in Germany, but sometimes you just need change and I wanted to discover something else, both from a geographical and a business point of view. The only thing I didn't want to change was working in the domain business, because I think this is a chance when you can combine work and passion. At that time, I was given the opportunity to work for one of the most successfull and respected actors in the French domain sphere, although domaing isn't its main business. Most of you probably know or have heard about this company : Virtual Network. We are an international web publishing company based in Switzerland and have built our network around premium generic domains. Some of our major portals : annonces.com (classifieds in French), humour.com (humor), jeux.com (games), jogos.com (Games in Portugese) and the Nr.1 portal in the french speaking part of Switzerland, Romandie.com. But we also own quite a few currently-not-developped domains in all languages and in various categories. We own a couple of thousands domains overall. During my time at Sedo, I had built a solid customer relationship to Virtual Network and one of its founders, know here as Picsou.com. To me, it was a chance to work for/with someone I appreciated and trusted, so I jumped in. My role as a Director of Business Development at Virtual Network is to develop the companies activities around domain names. Buying and selling domains is defintely part of the game, buying being the main focus right know. I will post at a later point about which kind of acquisitions we are currently looking at and I hope we can do business together. A last word on two of our recent operations on the secondary market : buying a Subportfolio of French domains from BuyDomains for a six figure amount (most of them being visible here) and selling BookHotels.com and Trekking.com over Sedo for 50k€ + 19,5 k€ (details here) What else can I say? I also run a blog I whish I would update on a somehow more regular basis... but which is of of the only ones in French about domain names and the secondary market.
