    problems registering IDNs

    Hello,
I have spotted out some good domains in chinese (chinese simplified and chinese traditional) and japanese, that are available to register.
But when I try to reg them, enom won't do it saying that the "domain is not available", even if I set the IDN tag correctly. I am doing this since 3 days so they are effectively free, but it won't me let register. What's wrong with this?

    Re: problems registering IDNs

    Hi,falco85
    Oh,you can't register it.
    Example I
中国.com(中国 means "China" in simplified Chinese and Japanese)has not been registered, but you can't regiter it.Only because 中國.com(中國 means "China" in trad. Chinese) has been registered.
    Example II
证券.com("securities" in simp. Chinese)has not been registered
    證券.com("securities" in trad. Chinese)TAKEN
証券.com("securities" in Japanese)has not been registered
    Because 證券.com("securities" in trad. Chinese)is TAKEN,so you can't register 证券.com("securities" in simp. Chinese)or 証券.com("securities" in Japanese).They are blocked.
    I like IDNs.

    Re: problems registering IDNs

    Hi Falco

Just to follow up Yumings' answer. There will be a number of names already registered in a different form. If you use DomainSite, you'll see these as free, but get a failed registration communication after you go through the process. Not always clear this is going to happen, but take note of the other registrations (eg .net, ,cn etc)...if your intended name shows as taken in these, but free in .com then it's almost certainly already registered. Have come across many of these instances, and not found one .com free yet where the others are already taken (fairly obvious really but you have to try, don't you).
