Yuans is the plural form of China's currency (yuan), similar to dollars, pesos, euros etc.

With China becoming an economic power, their currency will become increasingly important worldwide, and may replace the U.S. dollar as the "world's currency".

Yuan is also an important Chinese Dynasty and a very common Chinese name.

Obviously this is an important generic name with many uses.
