Who exactly drop the domains and where it is located - DNForum - Domain Sales, Domain Forum, Domain Appraisals, Domain Registrars

I'm new in this business, i'm interested in who is exactly dopping domains, i read that it is verisign, is all domains dropped by Verisign? If it's just Verisign, where is located that company?

When you fail to pay the renewal fee for your domain, it expires. The company you registered it through can then do whatever it wants with that domain. They can park it (put up advertising on it) to see how much traffic it gets and generate advertising revenue from it, they can sell it through an auction, or they can simply let it drop if they it doesn't work well for them to park it or no one bids on it at auction.

I got it, each domain registrar drops the domains they own.

So to catch a domain you need 4 things:

-fast script
-fast server
-server located close to drop site
-polling limitations

I hope really this year ICAAN to take some moves to prevent the black practice of domain registrars, so we all have a same chance to catch good domains.

In the time of finance crisis, i think the Chinese economic will become stronger, so it wont surprise me if Chinese business leaders buy ICAAN
