¢.com (and centsymbol.com)

Hi

I am hoping to get an appraisal on this domain name identity. There are actually two names here (as detailed in the title) and both are translations of one another, graphically and textually.

¢.com is, of course, an IDN and the stats now show that IDN-enabled browsers are quickly replacing non-IDN browsers around the world (the fact that Vista, an IDN-enabled OS, is being released today doesn't hurt either!).

Now, the '¢' symbol is on the US International keyboard (which could well replace the US standard keyboard at some point) and the name will show up (in its graphical format) in search results. So my question is, could I please have an appraisal based on current and possible future use?

I personally like it, although not as much as the Euro symbol. The only small question is if they will do away with symbol domains, but at this point it is anybody's guess.

The copyright symbol and the registered trademark symbols both sold at sedo for over $2,000 each, so you can possibly infer some value from that.

Current $100. Future $x,xxx. Afterall, it is still a one character. But I do think euro or dollar sign will worth much more. I mean, are you going to build a penny store to sell items in cents? If it is a ecommerce site, how much will I be paid for shipping?

Thanks for your comment. The dollar symbol (.com) would, imo, be the most valuable item of undeveloped ip on the internet; the cent is, of course, it's 'little brother'....

The value of this domain is in it's 'perception', and it's many financial uses, and not really anything to do with cent-based (or low priced) product/s.
