    Available or not?

There's a .com chinese symbol IDN that I'm trying to register.

I've checked the whois (at idnwhois.org), and it says that this domain is available.
When I search for it on Dynadot.com though I'm told that it's taken.

Do you know another idn registrar, (that accepts paypal), that I could try to register this name through?
Do you know of a 100% accurate whois search for IDNS that I could use to establish whether it's registered or not?

    Thankyou!

It is possible that one version is registered (simplified i.e) so that would show you the traditional version as avail. but it can't be registered (variant error).

    Ah, right... Thanks.
    That must be it.

The name I was trying to register was 点.com

    Oh, one other thing,
Do you know of a cheaper place to register IDN.cn than Dynadot?

    Ta.

    Not sure.
You should use the various idn specific forums. A lot of good info there and people speaking all kinds of weird languages.
