    google keyword tool for idn research cause of confusion

    the thing that has me confused is that, for example, if i use google.jp keyword tool to look up japanese idn words, I might get the exact results that say there is 60,000 global search, but for local search it will say there is not enough data.

    so if i am searching a japanese word in the google.jp, why would there be thousands of total searches but no local searches? it would seem to indicate the japanese word is a popular search in some other countries but not in the country of the languages origin

    i hope the question makes sense.

    Using https://adwords.google.jp/select/KeywordToolExternal and searching for Sakana/fish () I get 1.83 million local searches. If I change to Google.com and do the same search, the locals are 33K but global are 1.83 million. Is this what you mean? It could possibly just be a low search term period, do you know fluent Japanese? If you need help correcting grammar or a word, PM it over to me and I'll have my wife help out.

    My wife looked at some IDN's on here and other venues for sale and said, "Nobody would ever type that." Japanese is a complicated language and users will only type what they want certain ways. Definitely not like English. Again, if you or anyone else needs some help with proper Japanese translations, give me a PM.

    well i was using the .jp tool (not the .com). so heres an example. i'm using the IDNTools translator

    開眼 = Open eyes

    in google.jp keyword tool it will show 22,00 exact global search, but nothing for local search.

    i would actually be interested to get your wife's opinion on the IDNTools bulk translator tool itself, i'm wondering how accurate it is.

    also, open eyes is maybe a bad example. I have found what would seem to be good generic one-word but i dont want to give them away since i may want to register them

    Well, I'm not interested in Japanese IDN's or I would have already registered some good ones by now... Send me over your list and and when she has the time, I'll be able to tell you whether it's a proper term or if it sounds weird. I don't mean to criticize the site or anything, but it gives examples of available Japanese IDN's and when translated correctly, they are not available. I don't know what they mean by the examples (shown in English) being available then. Be careful to waste reg fee and leery about shelling out $20 a month for an unusable list.
