Great terms in Russian will almost always have US overture and high Yandex. Yandex.ru is the search engine of choice in Russia.
Their tool is located at: wordstat.yandex.ru
Agree with Named -- this is not "world", but a possessive of "world" which has significantly less value.
Yandex conjugates and declines words when doing a search, giving you results for all possibilities, even grammatically incorrect ones, according to its grammar pattern algorithms. Therefore, no matter what the conjugation or declension of the word, you will get similar results, leading you to think that you have the primary term. It may very well be entirely unsuitable to being a name.
World in Russian = свет
I believe the popular form of World is мир.com xn--h1ahn.com and the longer version is мировая.Originally Posted by CS-Admin

мир = 821,221 Yandex
Both very high figures.
The possessive form on the other hand, has zero us overture, which is an indication that it is not used by itself.
I am a professional simultaneous interpreter of Russian.
свет = 1. light 2. Society, as in [High] Society. 3. [archaic] world.
мир = 1. world. 2. peace.
мировая = [feminine] of the world, as in мировая история, world history (history is feminine).
мировые = [plural] of the world.

i know Russian.
мир.com - world
мировая - world's ( feminine) i.e world's (lady)
МИРОВЫЕ.com - word's (plural) i.e world's (games)
imho
I believe you meant to say possessive. Great to have multilingual dnf members here!Originally Posted by Angelx666
vtrader, possessive would be мировых. мировые is plural because игры is games plural not game.
I know Russian too and мир means world, свет means light
Cogito, ergo sum!
Thanks -- I think I understand now.Originally Posted by Named
I will stick with the numbers!
"свет" can mean- "world" as well i.e. "конец света"( end of the world)
"свет" - as the - "world" mainly used in Russian fairy-tales (not often )
Russian is highly complicated.
CBET does not mean light.......CBETLлO would mean light
