    173.com: $300k

    Sold for $302,790.

If you don't yet have any NNN.com names, make a deal for one as soon as you can! NNN.com have always see-sawed in price with LLL.com. LLL.com have gone way up recently, and now we have 2 recent $30k NNN.com sales and now this one.

    Evidence?

I've submitted several sales reports to Ron over the years and I know he checks things out before reporting them.

It has to be for some kind of big website, doubt it's a domainer speculation buy. But hard to think what 173 could stand for. Good sale for numeric holders though.

Not directed at you Sevent. Just a general comment regarding the absurd price.

    That's indeed pretty high.
Whatever the reason is, it shows that there is a certain amount of end user potential in numeric domains

    Why 173.com did so well

Because numbers are absolutely huge in Asia. 173com.com is one of the top Chinese websites. Look at the top 100 Chinese websites in Alexa, many are numeric sites, and a few are NNNNN.com's (including 17173.com). Also, look at the first 100 1NNNN.com's, in addition to about 40 Marchex US zip code websites, about 20 others are developed websites (including lots of Chinese sites):

    10008.com Developed Chinese website
    10012.com US media business.

He probably sold it to his brother to bump up the NNN.com market, and than quietly passed it back to himself. Very Strange after the buy no further discussion on development or anything on this domain?
