hmm, well I know I get a ton of spam from the domain (per spamcop.net) 163.com so I am going to suspect "they" are expanding their spamming business.

Why do spam companies use NNN.com? Surely they could find cheaper domains!

I think the problems is not that spam companies are choosing NNN names, it is that lots of big NNN portals offer free email addresses, and people seem to like having numeric's for their email. The biggest NNN sites (including 163.com) seem to be Chinese portals which offer free email. Or at least that's what it looks like to me, I don't speak the language

As perhaps I should translate a few of them to see what they are saying.
They are almost always in English. I get some emails in Chinese, but they usually look like spam.

I do not think 363.com will ever come onto the market as just a domain name, and the price to buy the business would be huge.
Cheers.
I don't shy any site at 363.net, and 363.com.cn seems to be a low-traffic site.

Sorry my mistake, but i see that 363.com is listed for sale :
"Buy Now: This domain is listed for sale at $2,625.00 on Afternic & sedo"
thanks a bunch for your responses. however, now i think that 363.com might be worth a lot more than 2k especially bearing in mind that 363.cn is owned by telecom china. i cannot rule out telecom china acquiring it in the future.

Forbidden by the Gov't in 2002? Where do you get that information?

Not only that but a lot of my friends in Chinatown have lucky numbers and will only go on sites with their lucky number in - sounds strange but they are very superstious.
its also a palindrome, they alway have value.
