    4 letter .com's - worth renewing?

I have 3 random four letter .com's that are about to expire. THey aren't premium letters, maybe 1 out of the four are, rest q, y, v , z, etc. No repeating either

    Are they worth the renewal?

Possibly, but that lies in what you initially invested into the names to get them and your odds of finding a buyer. Someone will likely snap them up on the drop for the mere fact that you can't find a 4 Letter in the open registry anymore. The question is whether to cut your loss, or hold the additional liabilities.

Well. I bought them for under $5 last year plus a renewal so about $15 up to now. After this renewal I will be in $75 for all three until this time next year.

I guess the question I am acting is 5 years down the road will they be worth at least $xxx. Of course this is asking for speculation but I am sure others here can speculate about this more accurately then myself.

Quality of letters matters, up to a point. However, a lot of Q, X, Z type letters are used in other languages, such as German or Chinese. Search for acronyms in Google, then scan other TLDs using e.g. v3Whois.com - or for other domains beginning or ending in that substring with ZFBot.com

Your 4L domains seem like just random letters, yes?
Can you at least CREATE possible meaning of it even if you have to force it?
If not, best thing going for those domains are luck.

I once sold seemingly random 5L domain for 5K.
I was very lucky with that one although I had specific use for it.

How lucky would you say you are?
Renew if you think you are lucky. If not, drop'em.

    Lastly...
Lots of people pay $1 for lottery ticket.
Until drawing date, they can dream big.

Its a tough call when deciding whether to let a domain drop or not. The registration fees can start to add up.

I say go with your gut feeling and pull the trigger. It's fun to speculate about a domain making you big $$$, but don't waste too much time thinking about it.

There is a reason there arent any left available in the registry anymore.

And someone somewhere can make-up a viable acronym for their needs if it suits them, sometime.

    No?
