Question: All those million dollar domain sales to end users. Are they usually paid one time payment or in installments ?
done both ways. depends entirely on how the deal is structured.

like I said, it all depends on how the deal is structured.
Keep in mind most 7 figure deals don't get reported anyway, so you can't really draw any conclusions either way.
I've done it both ways. 3-4 installments and lump sum... oddly enough, the lump sum deals tend to take almost as long.
While I have actually sold a portfolio once for a brown paper sack full of cash...
Bank Wire Transfer is the norm for the bigger deals.
I don't know of any really large deals done with a suitcase full of cash... that just seems silly at that level.

Has there been a situation where the buyer pays you with gold bars? Since the price of gold has been sky-rocketing ever since.
that's funny. never heard of real goldbars as payment method for domains...but sounds interesting.
I think they will pay in installments as it will secure for both the seller and buyer
yes i got paid in full when it was a for a domain above $100k
