Best registar for back ordering

Over the last few months I've backordered over a dozen domains with HostingDude. They haven't captured a single one for me. Several times, the new owner has the name up and running before they even log the capture as failed.

As I'm sure many of you know, you have to pay upfront for a backorder with them, being credited when it fails. So although I still have credit for what I paid them, they have my money and if they can go on being unsuccessful for a year then their T&Cs say they keep it. So I won't be using them for any extra business, although I'll do my best to use what they've got.

Can anybody recommend a registrar who stands a decent chance of actually making a capture? I'm not talking top ranking expires that everybody wants at exorbitant fees, just domains useful to my niche (such as juicyuk.com which I didn't get yesterday).

They look like a reseller, not even an Icann registrar.
Probably they use a script on top of an API, in that case they cannot compete against an army of registrars with direct connections to verisign.

For dropping domains the winning trio would be snapnames/pool/namejet. GoDaddy is not too bad I think for non-competitive domains (not sought after by the big three) but when you want to beat handreggers.

They make a big thing about their back ordering service, which is why I (mistakenly) chose them. Their main website is securepayment.net and they are part of Special Domain Services. They've even given me a Spanish contact number. However, none of this is of any use if they can't actually perform the service they advertise, i.e. capture domains.

GoDaddy (which I've avoided so far as it's dearer that the Spanish registrars) here I come.

Having just signed up with GoDaddy, I notice a remarkable similarity between their "My Account" page and that of HostingDude
