Why is this and how can I figure out when they will ACTUALLY be available for registration?

so domains from 17nov expire 30jan, that's 74 days... what's the logic behind it?Originally Posted by IT Web Team

many registrars charge a chunk of change for the most recent owner of a domain to renew an expired name ... it's to their benefit to hold it a couple of months during a "grace period" and give the original owners time to cough up the big bucks before putting it back out there in the wild...
I think also that ICANN has a mandatory grace period of 30 days...

I thought the wait period was 90 days.. hmmm... I'll have to remember that.

The actual drop date depends upon the registrar and what they use for a grace period.
It is generally 45-60 days onhold (depending on the registrar)
30 days redemption
5 days pending delete
It takes arond 3 months, infact im waiting on one now which should be registerable in 1 days time![]()
Are you going to share the name with us?

With all of my experiences it's always been a 90 day grace period. However, some companies may differ.

Sometimes, registrars will "hold" a domain in the mysterious "registrar hold" for as long a year. I have never been able to figure this out, but it's their game.
