If you are new to domains and looking to buy, sell and learn about domains then you have come to the right place. DNForum is the largest domain name community on the internet and continues to grow every day. There are over 105,000 domainers on DNForum doing everything from buying domains, selling domains, learning about domains and discussing domains. Take a minute and Register.
Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!Do buyers frown on domains that have hyphens or dashes? (eg. online-poker.com)
What are the pros and cons? It would seem that search engines still pick up on the keywords in the name.

domain names with hypens are quite misleading when it comes to searching for the ovt using the overture tool--they normally overrate domains. you just need to be careful.

at least in Germany, domains with hyphens are very popular. If you see alexa ranking for Germany, 3 out of the top 10 sites have hypens in them. Its just the tradition i guess.
