Thumbs up How does this transfer process work?

    Hi all,

I am relatively new to this game and wondered if anyone could adivse me as to how the transfer process actually works.

For instance if I had a domain registered at GoDaddy.com and I sold it to someone who wanted it pushing in to their own godaddy account how would this work?

    Is their any fee involved?

How do the whois details change? Is it automatic or do I have to do it myself?

It is a .info domain if this helps.

Is it differernt for transferring .co.uk and org.uk domains?

Sorry for all the questions but hpoe someone can help me.

    Thanks,

    Nick.

Hi Nick, pushing domain is easy.

At your GoDaddy domain control panel:

    1. Check the domain you want to push.
    2. Click initiate account changes.
    3. Then enter the new registrant's account number/username and the exact same email that he/she used to register with GoDaddy.
    4. Choose the whois options. Pick new whois according to your buyer's details. The change is automatic.
    5. Check and check the "I agree" terms, blah-blah-blah, and you're done.

And don't worry, no fee involved. It's 100% free no matter what the domain is.

However... transferring .uk domains is a bit complex. You need to tell nominet about the changes, pay the extra fee, etc. It's not hard though. Just dizzy.

    That's it. Happy domaining!
