How to value any given domain extension

How does the industry value each tld or domain extension for the same word? For example if I have the following - how would each be valued?

    bug.com
    bug.net
    bug.org
    bug.info
    bug.biz
    bug.tv
    bug.us
    bug.asia
    bug.mx
    bug.ws and .in, .bz, .nl

Very good question. I've been wondering this myself, but it probably depends on the word. For example, .tv is good for tv related words like show, sitcom, etc. .info would be great for information rich words like travel, health, etc.

If it's a generic word like bug, most people would probably value:
    1) .com
    2-3) .net .org
    4) .info (my favorite)

    BIG DIP

    5) .us (because "bug us" makes sense, but isn't a great combination)

    6-1000) Everything else

i think what you say above, is a key point in determining value with a large majority of domains.

though there are "preferential" exceptions that could alter extension value placement as you stated.

for instance bug.us could be more appealing than bug.net

while bug.org could appeal to entomologists

    and then there's...bug.me

    imo...
