    Moving domains from Yahoo?

Is it difficult to transfer a domain from Yahoo?

I remember a 2 years ago people were complaining that it's a real hassle.

    Hi,

When you transfer domains from Yahoo you also have to Cancel the domains from your Yahoo Account or they will continue to bill you.

There are several options so be sure to pick the one that indicates you are
    moving to another Registrar.

You'll get access to the Auth Codes when you start the cancellation process.

Also be sure to make any changes you need to make. Once you cancel a domain from Yahoo you can not access it again.

If you need an Auth Code also known as a Domain Key after you'ved cancelled, call their customer service.

I recently moved all my domains away from Yahoo.

Recent experiences with Yahoo have caused me to regard them as a truly awful company...except there front line customer support staff are very nice.

    Good luck,
    Patrick

Thanks for replying, it used to be impossible to obtain the Auth Code but I see they made it a LOT simpler.

Can you explain why I will need to call their customer service?
From what I understand I will only need the auth code and then simply cancel my plan, no?

    Hi,

I meant if you lose the Auth Code info before you transfer the domain you won't be able to get it from the Control Panel anymore as you will no longer have access to the domain.

Then the only way to get it is to call their customer service.

Weirdly, they will not email the Auth Code. They will only give it over the phone.
