never bought a domain before plz help

i emailed around 10 domain owners about their domains

i only said i am interested in buying your name . how much you are looking for ?

but i got 0 replies !

so i want to ask people who have nice portfolios

don't you reply to these kind of emails

or i have to send them an offer ? as i don't want to lowball them .

what you guys think i should do ?

maybe the names aren't for sale.

when people email me and ask how much I want for a name, I will always email them back and say 'make me an offer.' So, their lack of response to your email must mean it either went straight to their spam box or the name isn't for sale.

Unless you're emailing people about high premium names. They might figure you're a lowballer if you're asking what they're looking for instead of making a straight offer.. which also could explain the lack of response.

As you are new and this is your first time buying some name, maybe you have given them a offer which they cant accept,

OR

Maybe they do not want to sell that name.

All it depends on the owners interest.

Most sellers want the buyer to make an offer first. However, you should check
if the domain is actually for sale before you contact the seller. If that sales
status of the domain is not obvious then ask the seller if he would sell his domain,
before you make him an offer.

most of them are not listed for sale but they are parked and not a developed website

I have had a few of these emails myself , obviously through whois lookup , and I answered them with a price on the domain they are asking about and they either don't reply at all or the reply is "oh , we were only looking to spend maybe $100 maximum on this domain" , and the domain is listed at greatdomains for 40k , so I don't answer them anymore either , so maybe you have to put a realistic price range for the domain in your email, valuate the domains what they are worth to you realistcally ,but make the offer up front and I think you will get some replies at least to negotiate.

Hi,

With domains that are not listed for sale, many domain owners simply do not respond to inquiries.

Look for domains that are actually for sale; or try sending an actual offer (with a fair price) on domains that are not for sale, and if they are interested they will respond.

Many times with popular domains, the email address will get flooded with spam - thus the owner will not maintain his inbox. Or the other reasons mentioned.
