    Newbie with Script Question

I have a domain name, I have Hosting, and I have a script that I found for the site. I want to upload the files, but don't know how. Would I do this by FTP or something like that. I also am wondering of how I can modify the script from the files, or can I just change the HTML code. I know how to do that.

    Any help would much appreciated.

    Re: Newbie with Script Question

Generally, you'll have ftp access to your Hosting. The procedure would be to download the script package to your local machine, and read the instructions. You might have to make changes in a configuration file; like describe the database you are using; i.e. name, user and password, and then upload the files by ftp to your host. Depends on the script -- what is it?

    Re: Newbie with Script Question

It's a myspace resource script. It's in a .rar file that was compressed but I downloaded the reader to open it. Just wondering how hard it will be to modify the script, I don't want my site to look like all the others but want the shell of features offered.

    Re: Newbie with Script Question

I don't know PHP, but I have some knowledge of HTML. I am just wanting to change fonts, colors, maybe background and added some graphics and RSS feeds and stuff. Is this something that can easily be modified?

    Thanks for everyone's help.

yes you can do all that but you can mess up the script easily if its php and you don't know what your doing.
