If it has already expired you are unlikely to get a transfer - renew it at your current registrar then transfer it out.

I have a .net domain name that has expired a few days ago. I am trying to have the dn transferred to my new registrar GoDaddy. The old registrar (NameKing Inc.,) rejected the transfer request for reasons unknown (it is not locked either).
I have sent at least 4 emails and left a couple of voice mails and the old registrar wouldn't respond. Would it be possible to report nameking to ICANN? Since I am the owner of the domain, Is there any other way I can get it transferred without the old registrar's approval.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as my domain name will be deleted soon.
thanks much
-Sunny

Many registrars won't do a transfer even 30 days before it expires, which I think is reasonable.
I cannot even renew. There is a known problem with nameking I believe...Please read one related issue on one other web forums

Its just crazy...Its a buggy software application and is not user friendly.
thanks much

Finally NameKing Inc., did fix the issue and it was successfully transferred.
Thanks guys
