do .orgs have any value, especially for good single dictionary words?

Absolutely. However some domains do work better than others with .org. You can also check the site in my sig if you wish to search domain sales by specific parameters.
.org is my favorite after .com. We've had this discussion many times and it appears many of us agree .org has done a better job of establishing it's identity. .net for example was intended for infrastructure but it's seldom used for just that purpose, so then what it it for?
