Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!Let's say hypothetically you have to choose between an awesome 1-2 keyword rich premium domain cctld (eg .ca, .co.uk etc) and a mediocre .com domain. They both pertain to the same industry. You plan to have an international audience with visitors from all over the world. You're going to include multiple language translations on the site.
Would you choose the cctld domain over the mediocre dot com? Or would you choose the dot com?
With everything else being equal, can a cctld rank just as well as the .com domain in google.com (and other international versions of google)?
Thanks

I would go with the mediocre .com. It is simply the most commercial TLD. Especially if you plan on serving an international audience as well.
Thanks for the input guys.
Related to this topic, woudl you ever choose to have an interesting, memorable 'brandable' .com domain that contains no keywords related to the subject of your web site? Or should the domain give some sort of indication of what the web site is all about? For instance, if your site was about poker, would you use a domain like Yahoo or Bing (dot com)? Or would you choose YahooPoker or BingPoker etc?
Thanks
