Transfer domain to another registrar question

    Hi,

I have some domains which need renewing, being less than 60 days, is it
still possible to transfer the domain to another registrar?

I remember reading somewhere it cant be any less than 60days? is this correct?

If it has been with the current registrar less than 60 days then no, you cannot transfer it. If it's been with the current registrar for over 60 days but just with a different account, then yes, you can transfer it out.

I have been with the current registrar for over 2 years now. I got a renewal reminder 2 weeks ago, so I think I have about 4-5 weeks time left to renew the domains. so its ok to move transfer the domains to a new registrar?

How long does the transfer take?

    Many Thanks

    The million dollar question is,

How long as the domain been with the current registrar? I'm assuming you bought it from the registrar or from someone else in the registrar?

If it has been with the current registrar for fewer than 60 days then you will not be able to transfer it.

If it has been with the current registrar for over 60 days, then you can transfer it out.

If you have 4-5 weeks left on the registration (your domain management page can tell you this, or a quick visit to http://www.psychicwhois.com ) on the exact date it expires.

so, the name need not be on my name previously.

like if you have it for 9 months and sold the name to me.

    Can I transfer out immediately?

I have couple of names with one bad company, they are coming close to expiration.

Their renuval is $25.00 and they don't let me take the names out.
As I bough from the previous owner.

That is bad, I could rig 8 new names for that money.
