Two characters in .com .net .org are valuable if you can get your hands on them. You won't find any available for registration though since they are long gone.

.COM/.NET can be re-registered if they drop

.ORG cannot be re-registered if they drop, if owner lets them expire then they are gone for good.

.US .INFO .BIZ were never available

Other ccTLDs vary

Under the ICANN registry contract, no 2 letter domains are supposed to be allowed to be registered in .COM or .NET either (with existing ones grandfathered), but Verisign doesn't seem to be enforcing that. It varies by registrar whether you can manage to attempt to register such domains (some registrars might block 2-letter registrations because they're technically against ICANN rules).

I've only seen single character .NET's, myself. How they got one of those? Money. LOTS of it ... everything is "For sale", for a price. Good lesson for a newbie.
Have fun!

Here are the only one character .com/.net/.org's

x.com owned by Paypal/eBay
q.com owned by Quest
z.com owned by Nissan Motors

i.net owned by elequa

x.org X11 Technologies

If I missed one, someone let me know.

The rest were at one time available but have dropped and reclaimed by the registry. They are all on a permanent reserve for registry use.

I had a snap on (now I can disclose the name ) ac.org and was very happy to watch it drop ! But it was not registered for me. Then I tried to register it at nsi.com and my credit card was charged $35. I was sooooo happy. They refunded me the $$. I tried at register.com and same story. Now I know why. Thanks.
