Yes, I would make that purchase. Even if you don't get traffic from the typo's you still have 3 letter domains which could have value one day in any extension.
If you are new to domains and looking to buy, sell and learn about domains then you have come to the right place. DNForum is the largest domain name community on the internet and continues to grow every day. There are over 105,000 domainers on DNForum doing everything from buying domains, selling domains, learning about domains and discussing domains. Take a minute and Register.
Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!I found a very popular 3 letter domain name (a mobile phone related website). currently there is not a single typo is registered for that domain. this is probably because it is a domain of a very small country and domain market has not yet developed there (lets say i know some people that come from there). however, this could be a heaven for registering typos as theres lots of untouched potential. The 3 letter domain im talking about has such stats:
Overture results: LLL: 134321, LLL.extension: 33900
Link Popularity:
Google 100
Yahoo 1720
MSN 1639
Teoma 0
(P.S. these are the stats for the original domain)
Would you say that typos for such a domain would have success? I dont know how easy it would be to sell successful typos with country extensions... would you say that could be an undeveloped market with lots of potential or just a dead opportunity?

is it possible to sell country domain to non-resident of that country?Originally Posted by Duckinla

there is lots of potential in ccTLD. I find it much easier to find good traffic names/typos for ccTLDs as for generic. Does the typo have overture with extension?
1. What is ccTLD?Originally Posted by snicksnack
2. the weird thing is that none of the possible typos return any overture. 33900 ppl enter LLL.ext into their browsers every month and none make a typo? I find this strange. Could it be that overture doesnt analye all the data, especially that of small non-western countries?

maybe you need to choose a tool that can analyze words (typos) for that particular country...but coz i don't know what country you are talking about, you'll need to see http://www.namenewbie.com/ whether it does have an overture tool extension for that particular country in question! Keep in mind a 3-letter domain name though could worth a lot.
good luck!

What would you say is the usual overture ratio between an original domain and it's typo. for example myspace.com is 12509908 and mypsace.com has 4645, thus the ration is 2693. Any other examples?
Go for it, you will regret for not taking thos typos later.

Even if the domain/typo has no ovt w ext., it could still have good traffic. Overture seems to have also data for small country level domains, which due to the number of others might not be a reliable information/guide.
There are a lot less three letter typos, since there is a far less likelihood to make a mistake, so I wouldn't expect the same ratio. What would you say is the usual overture ratio between an original domain and it's typo. for example myspace.com is 12509908 and mypsace.com has 4645, thus the ration is 2693. I know the name and the typos too but I won`t reg them because of many reasons, too expensive and country is too little to generate huge traffic.

At the moment some good deal is in the .at , the austrian extension....since eurodns is offering a big sale at 4 euros only they`re ending soon.
But in the country where this name is, there are basically nearly all available......
