I've never really known the answer to this. I am wondering what the base price of a .com is. I know they recently raised the prices. I know some registrars take .com as a LOSS LEADER and charge under what they are being charged.
Disregarding the registrars fees, including transactions and credit fees, how much does a .com cost the registrar (including the ICANN FEE)
Do they share this info? I've never seen it published. Is it based on amount sold?

Always take a scientific approach. Check the facts.
If you don't know how to check? Ask until you find someone that does know
https://press.verisign.com/easyir/cu...ejsp=custom_97VeriSign announced that as of July 1, 2010, the registry fee for .com domain names will increase from $6.86 to $7.34 and that the registry fee for .net domain names will increase, from $4.23 to $4.65.

ICANN receives 18 cents or 20 cents - depends on the agreement the registrar signed (older agreement - 20 cents). The registry keeps $7.34
It pays well running a monopoly.
