Watch the market closely every day, as it's the only way you'll learn. Don't read outdated articles and buy e-books about "How to make $xx,xxx monthly by selling domain names". Those might have a few good tips you can take with you, but the most important thing is to watch the domain market closely and participate in it.
    Awsome My questions:

    1. Is the following interpretations correct? Did poot.com sell for a high amound than dpat because poot has two of the same letters?

In addition, did dr5.com sell for a higher amount because 5 is a smaller number than 9 and because d is a more valuable letter than v? Moreover, dr5 is a much easier to remember domain because v9s has a number in the middle of the domain?

dpt is more valuable because that domian consists of premium letters and ztw.net doesn't?

    2. How can I watch the market more closely? I try to read ever 4letternoob blogpost though.
Thanks for answering my questions everybody

No. Poot.com is generally more valuable than dpat.com, because "Poot" is highly pronounceable and very brandable. (Remember that these domains are only examples and I am not referring to any previous sales or similar).

DR5 has premium letters, it is a LLN.com (which is more valuable than LNL.com because, as you say, they are easier to remember and brand).

Generally, yes. Some may say that "there is no such thing as 'premium letters'", but on the domain/reseller market; yes it is. Premium letters generally sell for higher amounts than lower quality letters.

Your last question has been answered 100 times already the last week by other members, so I won't reply to that.

    Welcome to DNF.

If you are just starting out, its not about specific articles. You really need to spend a lot of time on DNForum reading through threads and getting a feel for things. You might want to use the search feature and go back and search on specific topics and pay attention to some of the more experienced users who respond. A lot of what you are asking has probably been answered before.

Have a listen to this interview with Adam who runs DNF - he has some good tips for newcomers; also have a read through this domaining wiki as well.

My suggestion is read, read, read and absorb as much as you can. Also, don't buy anything in the first month because you won't really understand it. Domaining is one of these things that take time to learn and to be honest, those that jump in, can waste a lot of $$$ in a short period of time.

    Hope this helps.
