I think it's going make CCTLD'S allot more popular around the world thank's to Rick .

You are wrong. Rick is merely capitalizing on the current popularity, not measurably contributing to escalating popularity.

Development of the names contributes to popularity, not the auctioneer. Get real. In fact, the "winners" at Rick's auction, most likely, are ppc schemers, domainers, or other opportunists who are too cheap or chicken to put money into real content rather than parking for sucking money out of suckers who pay for sponsored listing placement.

Another parasite IMHO, not someone contributing to the popularity of ccTLDs. Merely another opportunist skimming something off the top whether or not the name is developed. Nothing productive there, except for auction commissions and/or fees for the auctioneer.

Do you see what I'm saying?

In fact, this whole cycle of domainer conventions reminds me of the traveling roadshows in the days of horse-drawn wagons, when pitchmen stood on top of small platforms, hawking snake-oil remedies for every ailment they knew existed. They'd move from town to town, just like the traffic/domainer conventions, with hawkers, akin to today's auction barkers, whipping up a frenzy to part suckers from their money. Today's buyers happen to be more savvy, and good deals can be had, but the carnival barker has nothing to do with a ccTLD's success. In fact, a case can be made that these domainer-to-domainer auctions actually stifle a particular TLD's growth, since few end-users participate in these auctions.

This industry is full of scammers, squatters, BS-ers, self-serving cheaters, ethically-challenged registrars (and their employees), domain hoarders, and those who contribute nothing while making lots of cash with ppc schemes, flipping domains, and squatting of various sorts. Then they are shown smiling in photos next to their respective "feature story" at self-serving "news" sites like dnjournal.

I still do think the CCTLD Auction has benefited the CCTLD market . And yes i do think CCTLD'S are going up in value you have only got to look at the last few years sales history and see names like cruises.co.uk selling for $1.2 million and , jobs.ca selling for $600k , kredit.de selling for over $1.1 million and i have got allot of freinds who have really benefitted of just parking cctld's and making good monthly cash . These domains are becoming more popuar because for example a .co.uk domain is stronger than a .com in google.co.uk its like isive they have a automatic page rank over .com .
