A lot of good domains passed, especially .nets, and most of the ones bought were a bargain.

I'm surprised Denmark didn't go, as well as the dozens of other great .nets and .infos. Really a lot of bargains today going at reseller values.

there were LOTS of HIGH bids on ones that didn't sell...
they just didn't meet the reserve amounts...

It was fun to watch...
moved super fast...

this time they periodically stopped and drew an number from
those in the room and gave away prizes... that helps keep them
IN the room ... to continue to bid...

not sure if they fed them before...

but this time they had a chocolate bar...

then brought in food for them...

that also is a big help to keep them from wandering off in a
4hour + event...

good ideas... happy they offered all those incentives for the
bidders to hang around...

For those that missed the auction... Here's a video of the bidding for ringtones.org (that went for $120k)

By the way, it doesn't seem you can embed youtube videos on DNForum. Or it is possible? I just pasted a screenshot. Thanks.

How did you capture just the bidding on ONE domain ??

I'm not a techie person - and I am curious how that works...

I can see Christian Music - RIngtones
being marketed via a .org --- easy...

Hi,

It's called screen capturing.

You can record anything happening on your screen (or just part of the screen).

There's a free (open source) program called Camstudio.

Hope that helps,

Andrew

Actual bids or just the auctioneer trying to get close to the reserve price?

I think the results of the auction are a sign of the times. Sellers with too high expectations and not enough million dollar buyers to go around. One of the names listed will be picked up by a drop catcher before the auctions are even over. Allowing it to continue to be listed after me pointing it out shows the inadequacy of the whole deal.

Sometimes you sell eveything, sometimes barely anything..timing is key!

This one auction has absolutely no indications of any downswing in the domain market, if anything there is more action than ever overall...just not at that Traffic show.

For those that only look at TRAFFIC as a list of sold names and total revenue, I have to say that they are in the wrong business Or at least, they need to be present in the next TRAFFIC conference in order to experience for themselves the opportunities available for forming new alliances and ventures, the atmosphere, the camaraderie and the down to earth fun - with people that until then only "existed" online as names and photos. I will be taking a short break and will make a detailed synopsis post at my blog later this weekend

I agree, there were only ONLY 75 bidders connected or in the room over there.

I CAN`T IMAGINE WHAT would happen to the prices if domains where "discovered" from Wall Street for substantial alternative investments.

Imagine having some 10,000 bidders 10 years from now?
