Deal completed!
Also anyone have experience where the new rar (GoDaddy) sends a transfer request and gets the name transfered but doesn't send a CIRA request?
So while the new owner has posession at their GD account the CIRA info still needs changing, does GD have to do that for the customer or must they contact cira?

Hey Josh
GD is a big bummer with .ca. They can't seem to pull a name in with the new owners contacts in place. They retain the existing owner contacts and then the buyer has to wait another 60 days to change to their name. I went through this with a member here on a sale not too long ago.
At least that was the last experience I had.
I don't do transfers to GD of .CA names. Whoever buys a name from me can take a push at NamesPro or Siber.
I really don't like the fact that I am listed as the owner for 2 months after a sale as I don't know what the new owner could be doing with the domain. (porn...spam email etc.) and from a new owners pov...do they actually own the name? ..It is a bizarre setup...

Thanks bro, that is what I thought :(
Ill let the new owner know.
I had this exact same situation happen, and I am still waiting out the sixty days. I sold a domain and sent the auth code...my first mistake...now, the domain is at GoDaddy and is NOT in my account, but has my name on it. And...it is going to a landing page. It could easily be a tm issue, and I told the new owner that, but they do not have the time or energy to change the nameservers. I talked to Go Daddy, and the rep actually chastized me for sending the auth code...can you imagine?? Anyway, Domains at cost is no different. They cannot do two transfers at one time. It has become my policy now to insist on a registrant number and details for a PUSH before I even accept any money from a sale. I explain to the buyers that they have to do two transfers, and that I just cannot have my name on "their" domain for sixty days. So far, all the new buyers just do it my way...and it has cut down on my headaches and hassles. Also, doing it this way is the ONLY way if Escrow.com is being used. imo. Can you imagine waiting 60 days for your money because the whois still has the "old" owner on it??

If you transfer in to Namespro.ca (and I think Siber as well) all goes fine.
Have them initiate the transfer at NamesPro...they will then enter the EPP code you send them and it is done...usually in less than an hour if it is coming from another good registrar.
Silly rep....Do they think we give out EPP codes without already having the cash....I talked to Go Daddy, and the rep actually chastized me for sending the auth code...can you imagine??![]()

I agree, always having used namespro I have been spoiled![]()
That sucks Ilze, I know with escrow.com I have such a good relationship with them that if the new owner even has private whois immediately put on I just email support and show shots of the push, they generally release funds within 48 hrs. I had this happen on a LL .com sale ($85k years ago) the buyer wasn't doing anything on purpose he just didnt know what the steps were and went on vacation. I freaked!
btw I wouldnt worry about use in the mean time, pretty easy to show it isn't truly you, pain to even have to but sleep well regardless.

Josh,
I also know the gang at Escrow.com and they are the best!! I find that by forwarding the CIRA notice of change is enough to get the funds released,
but, big but.....if the registrant is still the old owner, then it is a 60 day wait, thus the PUSH being necessary. Even Escrow.com should not release funds until the Rant has been changed, and they will not.
