And .. why don't you edit your original post to reflect that España rather than Espana is correct and maybe even correct your Google numbers from over half a billion to roughly 35,500,000?

Well, it was my error, because firefox has set google.com as google.it (italian version). Espana (with no "") makes 532,000,000 results on the Google.it (http://www.google.it/search?hl=it&q=espana) and then 385,000,000 on Google.com (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=espana) . Then 507,000,000 results on Google.es (http://www.google.es/search?hl=en&q=espana) etc....
And "Espana" (with no "ñ") makes 550,000 searches / month, as reported by Google AdWords Keyword Tool.
Do you need something more?
You can check on the Google.com search links i've posted, and you will see "Espana" is more used than "España"
