Thumbs down Christian Higgins, an account manager from Parked.com is a SPAMMER

I did not ask for an email, I did not sign up for any newsletter... Do not contact me again with your spam, I'm very happy with SEDO - DO NOT EMAIL ME AGAIN.

This is Christian Higgins, an account manager from Parked.com. I'm writing to offer you an account with our domain parking service.

A few details about Parked.com:
-- Some example domains include gummibears.com and cameras.com. You also have the option of adding custom content to your domains, including video, pictures, and text.
-- We pay out twice a month, on the 7th and 22nd of each month. We are the only domain parking company to do so.
-- When you create an account with us, we have account teams consisting of three persons: an account manager, your go-to person for information about your account; a team programmer, who can help with any stats or information requests; and a full-time optimizer, who makes sure that your domains are pulling the proper keywords based on your domain names.
-- Our advertiser feed is through Yahoo, with a secondary feed that can handle any international or vice traffic that Yahoo won't accept. What this means is that there is no domain that we can't monetize.
-- You can track your traffic by visitors, clicks, revenue per click, total revenue and other factors. With the traffic analysis page, you can also track the source and referrers of your traffic.
-- There are no fees or extra charges. There is no signup fee, no hosting fee, no fees for moving domains in and out, and no contracts. If you're not satisfied with the results, you can leave at any time.

Let me know what other questions you may have, and I'd be happy to answer them..
Thanks again for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Christian Higgins

And this is the problem: these companies all abuse their right to send you stuff, and don't realize that they are alienating customers. Drives me crazy.

DomainSponsor must send me ten newsletters a month. Do I really need to know what you're doing at DomainFest? I couldn't care less.

All the companies do some form of this.

Most have an opt out form, I have used that a lot in the last few weeks to get my inbox under control...

I received an unsolicited email from Parked.com as well, but I'm not really one of these hardcore folks who decry every unsolicited email as evidence of widespread spamming.

It is reasonable to think that I may be interested in an alternative parking solution because of the amount of domains I currently park. They also offered an auto-approve link to sign up.

I've read quite a bit about them on this forum and agreed to give them a try.

I just don't always get all of the anger and hostility directed at targeted, yet unsolicited, emails. I get more annoyed at the ones I agreed to accept, but they send me way too many each and every day, than I do at the one-time, well targeted emails.

Just my .02

Its an email from a company that parks domain names, sent to a person who parks domain names...I see it as nothing more than direct marketing. Furthermore, it's from a real person, whom I've spoken to on the phone. I'm all for a professional sales pitch. In this case, I think it's all it is. I would think twice before smearing a guys name in an industry that he's trying to make a living in. That's the real problem here. I would have used better judgement.

Well if anyone who has something to sell me even only in areas of my interest I still would be gettingtens of emails a day. And brutal spam like viagra and crap can be filtered easily, these ones can not, it is big time waster because one usually reads 1-2 sentences before is clear what it is. So while classic spam takes me few minutes a day to liquidate, all these "serious" looking emails takes me maybe half an hour a day

Not interested, I'm in this business for several years now, I don't need an account manager to contact me about parking services, I did not sign up or ask to be emailed. It was a clear spam tool they used to scan to see who owns parked domains and spam them.... it's really cheap for Parked.com to take such acts to find customers.... their service is not even close to the performance level SEDO delivers. Their ppc rates STINKS!

This is actually a very polite solicitation and everything said here is true. Some nice points mentioned.
As you are a very "experienced" domainer, you must receive many unsolicited emails. I know I receive multiple "for sale" offers daily. I think it's part of the business. And when I receive info from different parking companies, I usually read what they have to offer (i.e. what they are claiming).
I know unsolicited emails can be annoying but I tend to be positive and choose to look at them this way: There are always new developments and I'm always looking to learn something new. So I check them out or I delete them.
Next.

Good point by 24HD - everyone knows Parked so what's the point them emailing. Is not like they can find some new domainer who never heard of them...

On a personal level, Christian is a very nice individual; had the pleasure of meeting him last year along with the rest of the Parked team. I think this was an unfortunate accident; I am also sensitive to "spam" and although I ignore some of it, there are times that I get infuriated, e.g. with emails soliciting .CN domains of .com's that I own.

Talking

funny thing is getting spammed
as although 'higgins' always deals with all problems in a very timely fashion, he has never actually 'answered' a pm or email when asked a direct question
led me to believe he was a bot

Okay we just received this:
Quote:

Dear #########,

I would like the chance to talk with you about the Parked.com domain parking platform and see if we could help you make the most out of your parked domains. I think you will find our account management system and easy to use interface could be a good match for you. In a recent survey by Domainnamewire.com, Parked.com was voted the top domain parking company among US Respondents. Parked.com also finished first when the results were controlled for the amount of people who had used each service.* More and more domainers are finding that once they try Parked.com, they have found a new favorite parking company.

If you would like to give Parked.com a try, I can send you a signup code that will get you automatically approved, and a higher revenue share than normal signups. If you would like to set up a time for me to give you a call, just let me know when is good for you, or feel free to call me at 813-386-2817. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Monte White

And it was sent to an E-mail address dedicated to snapnames catches. Is Parked spamming ? You decide

Monte is a nice guy as well. I wonder if these emails are just sent out without their direct participation. Alerted Donny to this thread?

Well this is the parked.com subforum, I'm sure they will take note.
More essentially this is not the first time we receive that type of solicitation.
we already have an account at parked anyway, admittedly it's idle at the moment.

For the sake of being fair.you admittedly sent out 5000+ emails to end users trying to sell your domains. are you sure you are the person to be calling parked out as spammers regardless of if they spammed or not? Seems that you have both done the same thing, contacted potential clients/end users. In this business most of us are guilty of sending unsolicited emails as we try to reach out and contact end users or potential customers.
