3 letter domains

Is there much money to be made from selling 3 letter domains .com .net and .org

Has anyone with these domains had many approaches for them?

Marco,
The idea behind 3 letter .com .net and .orgs are that:
1. They are really rare, pure 3 letter combinations are around 17K.
2. They are highly commercial. Here is an example. there is a bank called YapiKredi Bankasi in my country. They use ykb.com. Would you rather use Yapikredi.com or ykb.com
3. If you have a good (without q, k, z or x) 3 letter .com you eventually can rip a company.
4. Recent market for them is between 1 k to 2.5 K reseller value and I dont know their enduser value.

3 letter .com: $300 up to 5-6 figures
3 letter .net: $50 - $2000-$3000
3 letter .org: $20 - $200

These values are what I have observed. These ranges are based on 3 letters that are not words. If the 3 letters are a word, the prices above fly out the window.

What is the rationale behind the lower value
of qkzx 3-letter's? Your example of 'YapiKredi Bankasi' seems to point to another direction: .com's are used in countries with other letter probabilities too ...

Ok,
We, Turks and eastern Europeans like Germans are hard guys and we like to use hard letters like k and z. British and Americans are soft guys and they do not use k z q so often like us. For x, if it is in the middle you have less chance to get fit into a company name than any other letters. And heck who knows the real value of domains we are all stinky resellers and may be you can find a company which can pay you a pile of cash for xqk.com

Westerns never accept you as a western if you do not past Vienna and you should have a surname without -itz, -vich or -ov. Hope that helps you

Q, Z and X should be good in China and other oriental markets too, as their internet development increases, as those are popular letters. e.g. Quang, Xiang, Zhou, Zang, etc.
