.ws , Always good for sarcastic comments.
Just think how many "workshops" there are on any given day in the business world. "WorkShop" is more focused, niche oriented than Website.
Oh... but non-generic, crappy, two word .ws names still suck!
The company selling .ws names will owe me big time!![]()

I think I stumbled onto something. Keep in mind it is in my nature to "forecast".
Sorry Mrs. Sandra, but that is bullsh-t. I have seen one or two sites in my internet life (since 1993) that uses .ws : warez and hacking sites). No firm with a brain can use that extensionOriginally posted by sandra
"One of the most recognizable ccTLD's today is .WS with customers in over 180 countries. Global Domains International, the official registry for .WS "Web Site" domains, was just named in Inc. Magazine's "Inc 500 List for 2002": America's Fastest Growing Private Companies. GDI ranked #37 (Thirty-Seven!) out of 500 for the USA nationally, and #5in the state of California! .WS means Web Site and with over 80% availability your customers will get an easy to remember domain name and finally get the name they really want! wasted space??? that's funny coolhost, and must be why a .ws was recently sold by a member of this forum for $900!![]()
I'm not saying .ws names are worth a lot. IN fact a lot just aren't worth all that much! But, with some SE's placing a value on "generic-ness" of what comes before the dot... well, maybe it's time we rethink values of certain names. Especially since most names don't have "type-in" value.Originally posted by SirAlexFerguson

I can understand your not wanting to disclose the party, Sandra. I can, and I appreciate that. Please get the OK from the party and send me a Private Message, for my own research purposes. I promise not to tell anyone.Originally posted by sandra

Thank you.
Thanks Sandra - and you are not rubbing anyone the wrong way (well, not me anyhow!). I like a spirited debate. I firmly believe what I have said on this topic and you have your own thoughts about it. Opinions can change and maybe we will meet in the middle sometime down the line - in the meantime keep right on speaking your mind.Originally posted by sandra
thanks for the conversation! But unfortunately i don't want to waste any more time "enlightening" anyone, and run the risk of rubbing them the wrong way.
i'm a regular reader of your Web site, the dnjournal, duke. I think it's really informative!
