Yeah, chances are more then great that you'd get a nice C&D letter from their legal department. I wouldn't touch it.
ICQ # 11.832.51
Well, that is a risk indeed. However, provided that the domain name is the acronym of a legitimate business name, would this still be an issue?
Thank you
bay-e.com
I think it would still present an issue because eBay not only has rights to eBay.com, but also e-bay.com. Bay-e.com looks like you're trying to move in on their territory, at least that's what me, a common person, thinks, and that's all it takes for a company to win a lawsuit. You might could prevail in the end, but as with most legal battles with large multinational corporations, it could get costly.Originally Posted by bay-e.com

Would goliath afford the bad publicity?
We all make these mistakes.

is this a dyslexic typo??
anywayz I would just eat the reg fee on this one and continue on the hunt for that "great" domain..........mho
I wouldn't worry about a C and D from ebay. I had FeeBay.com for a long time, and I actually sold it on there site. They threatened me, that's about it.
dyslexic typo, lol. Not sure how much mistype traffic it may get, plus the possible legal mess you could get yourself in is probably not worth the traffic you might get. If you get enough backlinks it could come up as a search result somwhere close to ebay, then you could just send the traffic back with a little PPC slide. Otherwise you will have a tough time selling it, no-one wants ebay's lawyers on their back.
OK, so how much is this domain name worth?
Thanks
bay-e.com
With the possibility for trademark issues -- $0
Even without any TM problems, this isn't a good name.
Its pretty much useless...it has a hyphen and an ugly "E" stuck at the end.
It's worth less than your Gold membership to this forum was....
well, I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder ....
The last statement was uncalled for.Originally Posted by GT Web

That's OK, no offence taken ...

Bay-e.com
Hi
Any other view regarding the value of this domain name, please?
Thanks
bay-e.com
Most wouldn't touch this as it looks like a pretty clear TM issue. If it was mine I would probably cancel registration (before I got a C&D) and was potentially branded a "cybersquatter". Branding as a "cybersquatter" is sufficient grounds to demonstrate "bad faith" registration on any future domain issues (my interpretation, I am not a lawyer). Consequently I wouldn't jeopardize my portfolio on a questionable call. We all judge and evaluate risks differently but I think the message is pretty clear in this thread.
Cheers,
