I wanted to buy a domain name for someone, the domain name being their name....but which is best? I can't decide.
That way they can do: forename@surname.com

most definitely the 2nd option
i wish.......that would have been taken a long time ago. And the forenamesurname.com was also taken.......damn realtor grrrrrrrrrr
And to clear up confusion, the choices would be something like
www.president-gringo.com
or
www.presidentgringo.net
obviously, thats not it, but you get the drift.
Unless they will be submitting the names to the search engines, I would do: www.presidentgringo.net.Originally posted by President Gringo

The "hypens" are usually meant for SE's. People don't normally think to add the hypen otherwise if typing the name in the browser.

I 've no idea about their respective valuations.
How about: Surnames.info; .INFO will suit well with this particular name. Let me put this up for valuation to see what folks think.
Good New-TLD Names @: www.WebAdvantage.biz

Umm...Quick question. If this is your fiancee and you will someday get married, I hope you are buying, HerforenameYourSurname.whatever....Originally posted by President Gringo

you could always get a .name address .... just a thought![]()
then you'd have forename.surename.name and forname@surname.name - in case you didn't know.

anyone think .us would be better than the .net?
.com Gringo. The hyphen helps you visualize the name. Surprised you suggested .us....that could be confusing for a "name" domain for Britian... people may aske if she moved to the states?!
I voted .com.
