It's legal in Macao, an island 30 minutes south of Hong Kong ... I have been there ... the whole island is full of huge casinos and 5-star hotels from Las Vegas!
"Casino" is a great and powerful keyword, of course, but I'm not sure about how to promote gambling in China, either. The domain is good for SEO though. So I think it's worth about mid $xxx at the moment. Its value might increase in the near future once China enters the domain name market.
Thanks guys for your replies.
I'm slowly developing it into a Casino Forum.

Casino sort of gambling is illegal in Hongkong, but the Hongkopng people love to gamble. The name has lots of potential. The problem with "mainland chinese" is, that they do not have international credit cards. Chinese credit cards (mainly) don't work overseas, thus they cannot play online (apart from the issue that it is illegal in china!!!)
THey know better, cause since 1997 HK went from British hands back to Chinese hands, the government has threated Hong Kong with care, they just could not enforce mainland laws upon a free economy driven Island.Originally Posted by snicksnack

The concentration of business, wealth and luxury is enormous, and it reflects the views of a prosperous China to come.
The "legal" issue on gambling stays in a grey zone as the government tollerates it in Hong Kong & Macao.
So at this time there is nothing that is considered "illegal", nevertheless it isl is regulated and watched by government officials.
The example of how chinese people can help growth to a more Open and International China without diminishing in poverty, Hong Kong definitely sets the pace.

I think this is an ok development of site. Any appraisals and suggetions are still welcome
sorry, but your looking at a possible restriction on the domain, the chinese domain authority may decide to take it off you without asking a question, saying so if they don't the domain is worth $x,xxx chinese people are addicted to gambling, can't get enough of it.

It's a bit of cliché to think because it's chinese related they just can pull a domain name right out of your hands. (of course China could start a world war for all that matters, lol, and the usa could invade canada if it wants to, but still very unlikely to happen)
There is a set of rules and striking an .hk domain has the same probability of any domain that deviates from its registration rules. Either it to be .com .net .fr .ch .in .hk
When a domain is used in violation of it's registration rules the responsible domain authority can retire a domain.
If handing over, lending, selling to a new party and that party agrees upon the rules related to that domain there shouldn't be a problem.
There are no specific restrictions on transferring a .hk
Stick to the reg. rules, that's all.
Example from HKDNR Registration rules showing under which conditions a domain name can be transfered:
11.1 Procedure for transferring a domain name
You (in this clause referred to as "Transferor") may transfer the registration of your Domain Name to another party (the "Transferee") in accordance with the provisions set forth in the Rules and subject to clauses 11.2, 11.3 and 11.4, provided:
(a) the Transferor and the Transferee mutually consent to the transfer and jointly execute a Transfer Form as set out in the Rules;
(b) the Transferee:
(i) complies with the eligibility requirements set out in Rules for the Domain Name that is being transferred;
(ii) agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement; and
(iii) pays the prescribed Fees as set out in the Rules; and
(c) the Transferor or the Transferee pays any Fees that are owing and due to us before the application for the transfer; and (d) the Domain Name registration is not being challenged by a third party or pending dispute resolution in accordance with the Dispute Resolution Policy.
Once the transfer is completed, the Transferor's rights and obligations associated with the Domain Name registration shall be transferred to the Transferee.
The full registration ruling can be found here

Listed on sedo.com had two bids but sedo.com AS USUAL f****d it up. They approved the domain under another person's account, and by resetting it to my account, they lost the two biddings. Don't even know how much they were. They said they wrote the bidders and asked them to resubmit their bidding. LOL (just to give you an idea how sedo.com works)
Sedo-Update: I asked them to showcase the domain for all the hassle and they agreed. At least they admit they f___d up. Not the first time though.

If there is any so-called "professional" domain appraisal, you are getting it right HERE in this thread, seriously and honestly.Originally Posted by zendiz
